Harvesting the bounty: Historic images of Lodi agriculture

Grape growers picked their grapes and packed them in heavy lug boxes. Those boxes were loaded onto wagons and driven into Lodi’s freight depot near Pine Street between Sacramento and Main streets. Then the men unloaded their grapes into the railcars for delivery to the winery. This 1915 photograph shows Joe DePauli on the left, and Lawrence DePauli on the far right. Emil Nies is second from the right.
