Why doesn’t anyone care about intolerance toward Christians?

Our society has become extremely politically correct, and the political correctness watchdogs are everywhere making sure no one says anything to offend anyone.

For example, if someone says they believe homosexuality is wrong, the LGBT groups shout “offensive,” and the person is vilified by the press as being hateful and intolerant. Usually, the comment is taken back, and the culprit puts a ridiculous spin on his/her statement, explaining what they really meant, and offering the obligatory apology: “if I have offended anyone ...”

I wonder why this political correctness and concern for offending others doesn’t pertain to Christianity. Saturday Night Live came out with a skit a couple of weeks ago called “DJesus Uncrossed” (a spoof on “Django Unchained”).

It is a blasphemous, disgusting skit of a movie trailer depicting the resurrected Jesus wielding swords and blasting guns at those who had a part in His crucifixion. He is seen splitting someone’s head open and blowing holes through people with blood splattering everywhere. Seems like everyone thinks this is OK and has a big laugh over it.

Where are the political correctness watchdogs now? Where are the liberal voices who champion tolerance? They are silent. In our anti-Christian culture, it’s OK to denigrate Jesus, but everything else is off limits (by the way, you’ll never see SNL poking fun at or denigrating Mohammed like they did with Jesus in this skit).

Well I, for one, am highly offended at this revolting portrayal of Jesus, whom I love with all my heart, and I will not remain silent at this travesty or of the “selective” political correctness of our culture.

Yes, we have freedom of speech, but this freedom has been narrowed by what our anti-Christian culture has defined it as: “Say anything you want as long as it passes through our filter of what is politically correct, and our filter of political correctness doesn’t include anything pertaining to Christianity.”

Where’s the outrage amongst Christians? Fellow believers, do we love Jesus enough, and will we have the guts to stand up for Him, even if we are belittled, ridiculed or hated?
