God: Interracial marriage is OK, but same-sex unions are not

People who are comparing same-sex marriage to legal, interracial marriage precedents need to know that the Father was never against interracial marriage, but has recorded clearly what happened to Sodom/Gomorrah for same-sex relationships/experiences.

In No. 12, Miriam spoke out against Moses' Ethiopian wife and "became leprous" for seven days (verse 10). In Genesis 19, the "men" of the city who desired "to know" the angels visiting Lot's house "were struck with blindness" (verse 11). Lot and his family were told to leave the city before it was consumed by fire/brimstone "for their iniquity."

We are being told recently that children, asked independently of adult pressure, almost always prefer a home with a mother and a father. We may never know the destructiveness of same-sex unions until it is too late to keep from harming young lives growing up in this twisted culture.

A study of the history/countries that approved this lifestyle have fallen and/or been destroyed. We pray judgment as a nation will not come on us, also.

The innocence of young children is being taken away with teaching/exposing them to "alternative" lifestyles at such young ages. One thing for sure, we do know the overall negative effect of raising young children in single-parent households. Not all, but most children have a difficult time adjusting socially and educationally. Most struggle to know their true birth parents all through their adult lives.

Since it still takes a man/woman to bring a child into being, children will continue to search for their unknown birth parent because it is such an intrinsic part of who they are as adults.

Time to stop shaking our finger in the Father's face with what we want to do and do what He says is best for us to do, and not just for us, but for the sake of the children He seeks to draw to Him.

The bible clearly states: Those who practice these things (Homosexuality) are already condemned!

My apologies, the following post contains a copy of Ms Minicks letter which probably shouldn't have been recopied here. Part 1 of my comments are following Ms Miniks name and city. It does make it convenient to reference her letter as my comments refer to hers. Again my apologies if this has confused anyone.

Wouldn't it solve a lot of current mystery if god actually talked to people (not just an occassional individual in the middle of nowhere) or there was instant repercussions for unacceptable behavior (fire and/or brimstone). That doesn't happen so it really casts a doubt as to it actually happening then. Our only guide is a book that was compiled from the various oral traditions of many Mediteranian cultures with added jewish contributers and finally revised and updated in the third century. When people talk of the bible as having the most sales makes an assumption the original book since Constantine was really popular rather than everyone simply buying the latest of thousands of revisions (KJV, SAV, NLT, et al) trying to make a vague book more comprehensible (and exciting) which was translated from, hundreds of languages including, Hebrew, Greek, Egyptian, Babyloian, Latin, Aramaic, etc not to mention old English).

Now when you read the Sodom/Gomorrah story it really isn't that clear about the homosexuality of the crowd. It gets more confusing when the daughters are offered as an acceptable substitute (by an otherwisw rightous father) (huh?). I again refer to the the numerous translations and now our interpretation of the amalgamated translations. I also have a hard time with the Leviticus admonishment agains men laying with men. You have to simply accept OK thats just the way they talked and we can do an simple translation to make our understanding of the statement. I wish I could see the confusion in the future when they read something from us saying whoa that was bad. Yeah straight translation means it refers to something unacceptable. However a deeeper look at the culture finds, no there were instances where when someone said to something very impressive as hey thats real bad.
And what a conclusionary leap to say "We are being told recently that children, asked independently of adult pressure, almost always prefer a home with a mother and a father." When children are taken from an abusive home (short a fear of death) they say they would rather be home than in a foster care. Many kids interviewed in same sex homes are quite happy at home and would not have it differently. They are still capable of deciding for themselve their own sexual orientation. One parent family is always more difficult because child rearing is very difficult. But its not only kids but the elderly no matter how difficult it was for them to take care of themselves will always say they want to be at home rather than a nursing home. "Home" is very powerful regardless of what makes up "home".

If there are any adjustment problems for children raised by same sex parents its from bullies they encouter who have been raised by narrow minded people filling their heads with prejudice. The only predudice you should establish is don't talk to strangers. To say there is something wrong with the neighbor kids parents is the same as saying they are strangers and not to be trusted. Same sex-parent kids then suffer the damage from biased kids who are now likely to bully. This is the true offense in our society. With out that predjudice kids accept the world they live in and judge people for themselves not some artificial lables.
Now to say "A study of the history/countries that approved this lifestyle have fallen and/or been destroyed" really can't be left to stand alone. This is really an out of the blue statement that needs some verifiable source(s). And please don't site Sodom/Gomorrah because its not clear if the town was hit by a meteor and someone concocted a story to explain it not unlike Jerry Fallwell giving his explanation of the 9/11 attack being gods disatisfaction with the sin of the day (gays, womens rights, pagans, etc). That is if you want to communicate to a broader audience. And again the bisaed use the phrase gay "lifestyle"creates an image of something other than normal people who work, go shopping, pay taxes, etc.

There is a number of reasons children may seek out a missing parent but it is not because they feel there is an empty place in their lives. Most of these children express they are very happy with their current parents but find there are quirks in their personality that can be explained by a surviving parent. My mother died at an early age so there was no way to ask these kinds of questions but if was the case of her being alive somewhere else don't you know
I would love to have that conversation. There are other reasons like health when a missing parent coould help in diagnosing or enable more effective treatment.
Ms Minick you obviously have taken many leaps of faith but I am concerned your attempts to right your world is at the expense of so many others lives. I agree its time to stop but I think its time to stop trying to glean specific understanding from thousands of years of translating ancient stories about the wronged lives of the downtrodden hoping for relief from vicious and chaotic lives. Thats been mitigated by the new world we live in. If you missed one of the updates to your bible there was a final and overriding commandment to simply love one another. Thats it. Its simple and you don't have to dig in the old testament for whats right and/or wrong (selectively) and that would better serve the "sake" of the children. Otherwise if you see actual harm call child protective services.

Since you're so fond of the God of the Old Testament, perhaps you can share with us some of the other OT laws you find compelling.
