  I enjoy of how we, I'm LDS as well, believe that Jesus will come again, which he will of course.[smile] Then also of how we will basically become Gods ourselves. Notice the keyword "basically".

  I thought that ( manipulation) was a technique Mr Crowder utilized often. I wonder why he would care one way or the other if LNS manipulated anything since he himself does it often.

  Rick, I agree. It appears that the comments on this thread have been manipulated by LNS staffers. A poster named Ryan made two comments on Thursday, I believe. By the early hours of Friday, his name had changed, and then almost immediately, both comments were deleted. Neither of the comments violated the rules. Since there is no mechanism for posters to change or delete their own comments, it appears to be the work of LNS. But why?

  Thank you Ms. Foster for behaving like an adult and providing accurate comments . Unfortunately, some like Mr Houdack and Crowder who mock and make fun of people who practice religion, behave childish and and have a superiority complex.

  Too true. If people don't like their beliefs laughed at, they shouldn't believe such funny things. Any adult of full human intelligence who reads or is told the Mormon nonsense and who learns its tormented bloody history of lies and murder and still chooses to admit believing it is, to put it charitably, demonstrably gullible.

  Great Sources Andy Crowder! Even if they are out of context and probably sound very peculiar without some other LDS dogma like the Degrees of Glory, etc. But even without those maybe you guys could see how the statement from the LDS Newsroom is more like going out and buying a painting with your hard earned money and the Gospel Discourses, etc. is more like going to an Art School where the semesters traverse millennia and learning and serving is the point throughout all mediums of art. No "ruling" in the commonly used context. Does God "rule" this world? Absolutely, but does He MAKE a person (although he could) choose a righteous action (helping someone, not stealing, etc)? Of course not , God allows us to use our Agency, and feel the Light of Christ in our lives (conscience).

  Thank you also for bringing up the principle of tithing (10% of earnings) to help others on earth. Malachi in the New Testament said the following on tithing " 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

  11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. "

  Tithing is used to build churches, temples, and sustain missionary work on the earth. I have a testimony of tithing, I heard it said once that tithing isn't paid with money but with faith. I love paying my tithing. I feel the blessings of following a commandment of God when I do.

  On the issue of Temple Garments, the undergarments that LDS people choose to wear is an "outward expression of an inward commitment to Jesus Christ." There is no paid "clergy" in our congregations. All worthy members are given the opportunity to speak from our pulpit. We uplift and learn from each other in this way. So because we don't pay someone to preach to us, we all kind of wear the clothes of a clergyman (just not for the world to see). I have the opportunity to speak in church in August and I am really looking forward to researching and hopefully uplifting my Brothers and Sisters through the Spirit of the Lord. I hope they will be blessed, even though I am a poor orator. Nevertheless I look forward to the opportunity to serve. I invite both of you to come if you wish. May God bless you in all your righteous endeavors.

  Later Day Saints also believe that the Garden of Eden was in Missouri, it costs 10% of your lifelong earnings to buy your way into heaven, and God gets upset if you don't wear your magical underwear.

  In their defense, other Christian groups hold equally bizarre beliefs, e.g. snake handling, talking in tongues, and the practice of symbolic cannibalism rituals.

  With due respect to Ms. Foster, the church did, in fact, teach that each male priest would ultimately get their own planet. Perhaps the dogma has been changed again; Mormon teachings have been notoriously unstable when exposed to the light of modern times or secular law. In any case Ms. Foster would, as a Mormon female, receive nothing over which to rule - except maybe a stove.

  The direct answer is yes, the Mormons think they will become gods and get their own personal planet over which they will rule.

  The tenets of the religion are so laughable they would make poor fodder for an episode of a campy sci fi TV show.
