“What is truth?” he asked.
A hunger and thirst ...
A void that must be filled, He said.
“The Spirit is the truth,” “My voice is the truth.”
“I am the word, true and faithful.” the living water, the living bread of life.
“My flesh and blood are food,” He said.
“If you eat my flesh and blood,
And drink my living water,
I’ll quench your hunger and shake your thirst,
I’ll fill your void.”
“But,” you ask, “how so?” He said, “It’s written.”
“Man shall not live by bread alone,
But by every word of God.”
“Eat my words ... sweet as honey to the mouth,
Bitter to the belly.”
“The spirit quickens, flesh profits nothing,” He said.
“What’s that mean?” I asked.
“My words are spirit and life,” He said.
Digest every jot and tittle ...
“Worship god in spirit and in truth,” He said.
“What is truth?” we ask.
