Lodian Louis Dearman, 58, recently called to be a bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, had barely been on the job for two weeks when he was called by Jon Owen, a member of his Lodi Third Ward, or parish, to rush to Lodi Memorial Hospital and perform a marriage.

As reported on the front page of the News-Sentinel on Oct. 13, Owen and Carolina Castillo of Woodbridge wanted to get married before Castillo delivered their baby on Oct. 11 (10/11/12), but they didn't plan on her suddenly needing an emergency Caesarean section. The nurses in the hospital went into action and planned a wedding, complete with flowers, cake and punch.
