On Feb. 17, 13 members of Vinewood Community Church traveled to Dinuba in order to participate for one week at Gleanings for the Hungry, a food distribution program for those in need. The mission is to help feed the hungry of the world, both physically and spiritually.

During the summer months, volunteers dry and package donated fruit. During the winter, they prepare a dried soup mix made from donated dehydrated vegetables, rice and pasta that is blended with spices. The soup mix is then packaged in small bags and distributed to hungry people all over the world. Last year, 2.7 million pounds of nutritious food products were shipped to orphans, widows, children and disaster victims.
