Lending a hand at McFarland Ranch Mormon volunteers help build new barn

A group of men from the Sacramento Second Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered at McFarland Living History Ranch to participate in an old-fashioned barn raising on July 13.

Under the supervision of Francie Jacobsen, the on-site manager, 16 to 18 men proceeded to construct the framework for the outside wall panels and hoisted them into place for a large barn that was being constructed on the grounds of McFarland Ranch on the west side of Galt.
