- Parishioners share what makes Emanuel Lutheran Church unique
“What makes the church special is the people. We’re the friendliest church around. When you first come here, people introduce themselves to you right away. That was what it was like when I first attended the church. And our outreach with Salvation Army and the Lodi House” — Eileen Burchan
“We’re a tight knit group. I think we care very much for each other and that’s one thing that’s meant a lot to me here.” — Joy Vaughan
“We have a very strong pastor here, who’s friendly and outgoing. I think that’s the key that holds us together — and the people are very helpful. We also adore our organ music.” — Carol Krokstrom
“It’s very warm and welcoming here. The church has a German base, so some of the traditions come from that. At Christmas time, some of the songs are in German.” — Phil Abba
