By collecting plastic water bottles and aluminum cans, Bear Creek Community Church has raised $30,000 so that children in Peru, Ghana, Chad, Kenya, Namibia and Haiti can drink clean, healthy water.
The program is called Bear Creek Water, and the church managed to raise the money in 13 months, said Associate Pastor George Liepart, who is running the program. That financed construction of 11 wells in third-world countries, where children have died by drinking water from rivers containing bacteria.

This is one of the best cooperative programs in our area. Local churches have embraced this mission and done a spectacular job in helping in an area of real need in the world. Living Water was on the ground in Hati immediately after the earthquake. I am proud of all our churches who are involved in this mission.
