In connection with the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, Bear Creek Community Church will present a tapestry of the lives of a poor Irish immigrant family, a Southern farming family and two former slaves beginning their journey to freedom during a musical drama centered on the Civil War.
The music, lyrics and story in “Standing in Heaven” are an original work composed by Bear Creek Worship Pastor Jebby Moates. With the exception of President Abraham Lincoln, the characters in this production and their stories are fictional. The musical is rated PG for firearms, violent content and intense subject matter. There will be smoke and strobe light effects during the performance.
