Joining Catholic churches throughout the world, Lodi-area
parishes have taken major steps to ensure that clergy abuse --
which has rocked the church the past three years -- doesn't happen
Churches take fingerprints and conduct criminal background
checks on all priests, employees and volunteers -- especially those
who serve children.
