The shootings of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Arizona, and 18 others really hit home to for Father Harold Clinehens of St. John's Episcopal Church.
"These events have affected my wife and me deeply because it is so close to home for us," Clinehens said on Thursday. "We lived in Gabrielle Giffords' district before coming to Lodi. I probably rode by her office two or three times a week. The hospital where she is fighting for her life and where supporters and concerned citizens continue to pray and hold candlelight vigils for her is literally just a few blocks down the street from where we lived. There were a number of people there on Saturday night with whom we worshipped in Tucson."
