Affordability romancing the housing market; have a Realtor to advise you

The Lodi housing market is going gang busters, but don’t just take my word for it. Take a look at the facts. As you can see, the average price per square foot in zip codes 95242 and 95240 have increased 21.8 percent over the last 12 months. This took us from $111 in March 2012 to $135 in March 2013. Never before has affordability been so well married to low prices to create such a romantic market.

Sometimes charts, graphs and statistics can be pretty dull and boring. My goal, however, is to empower consumers who enter into contracts armed with information about homes for sale and our local market conditions.

In today’s Internet/instant access to information, consumers can easily access a host of real estate resources anytime, anywhere, from their desktops or specific house or inventory level in their community. However, many of the available sources of information can cause confusion as we come across data that’s incomplete, contradictory, outdated, or flat-out wrong.

This can lead to buyers and sellers to erroneous conclusions about a home’s value, the prevalence of distressed sales, or the costs involved in a transaction, just to name a few. This is where your local Realtor can help. When it comes to information, we can help sort fact from myth or provide context to the random data points consumers regularly come across.

No one can predict the future. But you can round out your knowledge about an area by using your local Realtor expert to help with one of your most expensive purchases. In today’s demanding market why wouldn’t you want a local expert to help you navigate through all the available information to make the best decision that’s right for you?
