Happy New Year Everyone! It is that time when the Lodi Association of Realtors installs a new president. This year, on January 11, 2012, it is my honor and privilege to be sworn in as the 2012 President of the Lodi Association of Realtors.

My name is Diane Comporato-Gallagher and as we head into a new year, there is so much to be thankful for. I hope you have taken the time to stop and reflect on the past year and the blessings that came to you both big and small.

I would like to thank Kerry Suess for a great job last year. Those will be hard shoes to fill, but I’m always up for a good challenge.  Thank you Kerry!

Another person who will be in for a challenging year is Henrietta (Hank) Vandyk who will be filling the shoes of MarJo Rivinius. MarJo retired last year after 37 years and she will be missed.  I would like to say thank you to all of our staff at the LAR office, Dawn, Kathy, Theresa and Terrie.

I was born and raised in Lodi, attended Lodi schools and graduated from Lodi High. Go Lodi!! I am still living in the Lodi area and I feel the same as many people do, proud to be stuck in Lodi.  I love it here!  Lodi is truly a unique little town that everyone seems to love when they come here.  They always want to come back.

For 23 years I worked in the grocery business, and I must say, I did enjoy that. I decided to make a change into the real estate industry. I did not know what a challenging career this would be.

I started with ReMax Gold and I am currently with KWA/PMZ.  Over the past several years I have been actively involved in many committees within the Lodi Association of Realtors and have also served on the board of directors since 2008.

It is no news to anyone where our economy is going! Hard to say where we will be by the end of the year, but with all the predictions that we hear on the news and read on the internet or news paper there is uncertainty depending on who you listen to. Over the next year, it will be my responsibility to give you as much information on the real estate market as I can.

I will do the best I can to help answer questions you have.
