St. Peter Lutheran School volleyball teams bring trophies to Lodi

Saturday afternoon in Citrus Heights the boys volleyball team of St. Peter Lutheran School of Lodi won the Central Valley Lutheran Schools League championship. In a closely fought match they overcame a first game loss to Elk Grove's St. Peter team. Liza and Gary Kanemura coached their team in consecutive victories to win the match. J.R. Kanemura, Chase Van Rossum, Lili LeBaron, Elliana Pappas, Tyler Farnsworth, Chris Shoup, and Matt Pudell played outstanding games.

In an earlier match the girls' team of St. Peter/Lodi defeatd Town & Country Lutheran of Sacramento to claim the third place trophy. Besides Lili LeBaron and Elliana Pappas, Julia Tougas, Alexus Bock, Abigail Beck, Abbey King, and Mallory Korock contributed to the win. Grace Kuehne helped out earlier in the tournament but had to miss Saturday. The boys' team lost one game ! and the girls lost two games in regular season play in the league that spans Sacramento to Modesto.
