“I don’t think Santa should be banned. I can’t see how Santa is offensive.” “I am unaware of it; it’s odd.” “They’re just kids; Santa gives them something to look forward to.” “I think it is ridiculous. Santa Claus has been a tradition for a long time. If it makes kids happy, then it shouldn’t be taken away from them.” “i think that Santa Claus isn’t a religious symbol, and he should stay.”

Repression, cessation, depression, aggression...the steps to servitude. Santa, the Easter Bunny, Sponge Bob, the Three Stooges...all attacked by the left.

As I was perusing the answers to this question, I too was immediately caught off guard by Ms. Schlaier's incredibly ignorant answer. To think that Christmas was once a day set aside to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ that a full-grown adult would adopt such a stance in favor of Santa Clause because at least he isn't a religious symbol.

But Ms. Goni's response isn't too far behind Ms. Schlaier's on the ignorance scale. After all there's no law respecting the right of anyone to not be offended; if there is then please point it out to me. As far as I know the enforcement of the First Amendment insofar as religion is concerned isn't based upon anyone being offended by another's religion. It's actually a skewed interpretation of the Founder's original intent that while the government is prohibited from creating its own religion to foist upon the people, at the same time it is also prohibited from getting in the way of the peoples' right to worship as they please.

How it ever came to the point we are now is a prime example of progressivism run amok.

“i think that Santa Claus isn’t a religious symbol, and he should stay.” Is what one of the interviewees answered...And what is Christmas? What is the origin of Christmas? We can only re-write history so much- Christmas IS a religious holiday, and is the celebration of the birth of Christ..whether people want to admit it or not. I think that if people are so offended by Christmas being a religious holiday, that they should go to work that day, or take it off UNPAID. We should also eliminate Black Friday where the retailers rake in all that cash. Yes, we have freedom of religion in this country and if people want to ban the true meaning of Christmas, then don't take all the perks that go with it. Let Christians celebrate it in private and let the non-believers have it be just another day. I have a Muslim friend who loves celebrating Christmas, because it is a joyful time and it irates him to no end that the progressives are trying to suck every bit of joy and fun out of it..
