As you look ahead to 2013, are you concerned about the prospects for peace? Most folks are right in saying we find no peace among men. We see no peace between nations, only more war next year.

All this is evident when you read the daily headlines on the front page of any U.S. newspaper, so let us read in your Bible of the first Christmas. Please read Luke 2:1-20. Notice the words of God's messengers as the angels proclaim "Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth, peace, good will toward men," found in Luke 2:14.

But what are God's angels saying to us? I believe peace comes only in knowing Jesus, born in Bethlehem in Israel. Please read more verses in Romans 5:1-2 and II Thessalonians 3:16.

Peace between you and a holy God comes about when you accept by faith Jesus, full payment for your sin, in His death on a Roman cross 2,000 years ago as your substitute.

By His death, as the lamb of God, Jesus redeems your soul to God by His perfect bloodshed to cover your sin against God, see Ephesians 2:4-19, Key 15-17.

So by His grace, you are no longer an enemy of God, under His judgment of your sin. The gospel truth is that forever, I am at peace with God. The same peace available to the Bethlehem shepherds is till offered to us today through faith in Jesus, God's only Son, and the Earth's only savior from sin.
