My mom died today (March 3, 2014). A child of the living God, Pauline was 94. Of course we knew it was coming. I thought I was ready.

We’ve known each other since I drew my first breath. I’ve never know a second when she wasn’t here. We’ve been friends my entire lifetime. God gave her to me and me to her — a blessing to me for sure.

Mom was a believer. She shared her faith with me and taught me my first song: “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong, we are weak but He is strong.”

She taught me to pray: “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take.” Plain and simple, short and sweet, just like her.

Mom is safe with Christ Jesus now, thanks to Him. And thanks to Him, my family and I will see her again soon. Thanks to Him and Him alone.
