God uses many metaphors to speak to sinners

The Lord God, in His infinite wisdom, in designs of mercy, has been pleased in His Word to use many metaphors putting natural, spiritual things for man's good and the glory of His great and gracious name.

The mighty, majestic God of the Bible, that God who must humble Himself even to behold the things of heaven and earth, condescends to speak to sinners through natural, familiar, everyday things of life — using natural things to illustrate spiritual truths.

These metaphors have been and continue to be a real blessing to my soul. Oh how plainly and clearly they illustrate and press home divine truth to the mind and heart. For example, the elect of God accept the doctrine of the absolute sovereignty of their God. A god who is not absolutely sovereign over all things is simply not God. How vividly this doctrine comes to life when we walk with the prophet Jeremiah to visit the "Potter's House."

As we stand and watch the potter at work with his clay, we hear God speak to us as individuals, cannot I do with you as this putter, said the Lord? Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand.

The Scripture does not tell us that Christ died, shed His blood and redeemed everyone in every nation. It clearly states that He was slain and did redeem to God by His blood a people (His church) out of every tongue and people. When those whom the father chose in Christ, for whom the Savior died, hear that good news of free redemption proclaimed in the power of His Holy Spirit, they will believe.

"And when the gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord, and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed (Acts 13:48)."

May the Lord be pleased to reveal Himself to this perishing generation. May He reveal Himself in purposes of mercy and grace to sinful men and woman.

Again we hear the truth for one of Gods children, who has clearly been chosen by God. Thank you Willie, we don't hear the truth often enough.

I see that God has not chosen (as yet) to reveal his truth tho Sarah Elizabeth. Sarah, the things of God spiritual, truth and comforting to those who love God (Who are chosen) and foolishness to those do not believe.

Pray Sarah, that God will reveal himself to you so that you may know his love and his truth...

I am curious is to what church Willie Hebacker attends, if you wouldn't mind.

Could you unpack just what you mean by "plainly" and "clearly" these supposed metaphors can "press home divine truth" and just what exactly this "divine truth" entails?
