May 14 marked ancient Israel’s 66th year as the re-established modern sovereign state it is. After their 4,000-year history, including 2,000 years of diaspora and worldwide dispersion, the Jews returned to their God-endowed land as foretold in Holy Scripture. Scripture prophesied the Jewish “aliyah,” or return to their promised land, and Scripture itself is the Jews’ deed to it. This amazing prophecy was fulfilled May 14, 1948, before our generation’s very eyes.
It is written King David bought Orman’s threshing floor (Mt. Moriah) from Arnan to Jebusite for hard money — the full price of 600 shekels of gold by weight. It’s chronicled (I Chronicles 21:18-28). This place was chosen by Jehovah for His servant, King David, to build an altar on, and be established as the “Holy Hill of Zion” or Temple Mount.
Two Jewish temples previously existed on this spot, Solomon’s temple destroyed by the Babylonians, and Herod’s temple destroyed by the Romans in 70 A.D. as historically recorded. It’s also the place where Abraham offered his son Isaac. It’s prophesied that a third Jewish temple will be built here, but currently an Islamic mosque is an obstruction. Nevertheless, prophecy will not be thwarted.
Happy 66th to a great nation and friend, the royal house of Israel — the throne of David, the “City of God” and the “apple of His eye.”
Please pray for the peace of Jerusalem — Maranatha.
