On Dec. 5, the wonderful and hallowed University of the Pacific Department of Religious and Classical Studies and center of intellectual stimulation and knowledge will host a "free" and open discussion on the topic "The gospel of Jesus' wife: textuality and sexuality and the latest controversy of religion" — i.e., was Jesus Christ married, and what does it mean to sexualize Jesus Christ?

Caroline Schroeder, Pacific professor of early Christianity, along with other Ph.D.s — Professors George Randels and Anthony Le Donne, and Pacific Chaplain Joel Lohr — will lend their weighty and scholarly expertise to hosting and moderating this very deep, monumental and free interlude speculating on God's sex life. Did I mention "free"?

Paul, renowned author and apologist of scriptural fame, wrote, "For I say through the grace given me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think seriously, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith. Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babbling; for they will increase into more ungodliness and their words will eat as does a cancer."

My dear old "not so famous" dad use to say "nothing is free; you get exactly what you pay for."
