Thank you to everyone who attended the recent Connect Lodi! event at the Wine & Roses, Garden Ballroom on Tuesday evening.

Also many thanks to the sponsors, The Stephen Mann Group, The Women's Business Network of Lodi, The Lodi Chamber of Commerce, Visit Lodi! and the Wine & Roses Hotel, Restaurant and Spa. This was a celebration of our great local business community in the midst of all the discord and economic doom and gloom.

Thank you also to the local wineries who poured: Abundance Winery, Michael-David Vineyards, Oak Ridge Winery and Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi. Fun was had by all who attended and lots of business connections were made. If you missed the event, look for it to return in the future.

Unfortunately, the event was not covered by the local newspaper other than a brief announcement in the Local Ledger, though they were informed weeks prior to the event. Are local businesses no longer of interest? Are only foreclosures and closing businesses newsworthy? It is time we start supporting our local business, both through patronage and support. These are the people who are the basis for our own local economy.

Absolutely Susan! We should support our local community. We should attend every grand opening, event, and promotion efforts that we can fit into our schedule, and LNS should do the same!
