North American Union is a serious threat

President Bush is planning a scheme, in collaboration with Mexican and Canadian officials, to merge America with Mexico and Canada into an NAU in the same way European countries were merged into a European Union, in which their self determination was surrendered to bureaucrats in Brussels, Luxembourg and Strasbourg.

This would mean the elimination of all U.S. borders with Mexico and Canada and would result in our becoming citizens of North America along with every citizen of Canada and Mexico.

This assault on our national independence and Constitutional rights is quietly happening without the consent of Congress or the American people.

At a time when Americans are demanding that the federal government secure our borders; halt illegal immigration; and keep criminals, terrorists and drug dealers out, the NAU plan, if we let it happen on schedule by 2010, would allow additional millions of poor and uneducated Mexicans to come into the U.S.

The North American Union (NAU) would enable Mexicans and Canadians, as citizens of North America, to travel at will throughout our former republic, using their claims on our federal treasury, our tax dollars, and the full range of government benefits to the tune of trillions of dollars of our money.

As the typical working USA family struggles with taxes and inflation, you and I would become obliged to pay for the additional socialized medicine and lavish social welfare benefits of the kind which many Mexicans and Canadians already receive.

Please understand, NAU is not a pipe dream, it's a looming nightmare already on its way to implementation in the guise of a Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP)

We can't let this happen. The proposed North American Union plan is the most serious threat to our nation's liberty and independence as a constitutional republic that we have ever faced.

I also oppose the concept of North American Union but find a number of the posts inaccurate ... Mexico soft on crime? certainly not as a rule; mug a tourist is Cancun and the beating you get on the way to the station house is more punishment than one gets for his third strongarm robbery conviction in the USA in 3 years; Canada's socialized medicine system is not a bonanza; it is expensive and jammed resulting in tens of thousands of Canadians going to USA for treatment

This is the most important topic that ever hit the newspaper, and it will get fewer blogs than global warming.

To (my old friend): Changing the subject, the ancient Chinese medicine is more successful at preventing disease than America's FDA-controlled medicine. This is because the FDA is owned by the Rockefeller dynasty, and they used it to establish a cartel relationship with the federal govt, to protect their highly lucrative medical business.

Face it: That's negative thinking. Our leaders can be defeated through massive citizenry communications.

The Mexican government lets Mestizos or Indios commit crime without punishment. When these people sneak across the border to the US they think they don't have to follow the laws here either. Colonias ARE ILLEGAL in Mexico, so is "squatting", theft, drugs, murder and assault. Allowing ethnic groups to break the law is its own "special reward" to some. The reason is not the "Mestizo Myth", but unwillingness to build the prisons necessary to punish all criminals. Instead of staying in lawless Mexico, they sneak into the US to continue their crimes.

One of the generous benefits of being employed in Mexico is that you cannot fire an employee without paying at least 6 months severance pay. So there are MANY deadbeats in Mexico who get a job, then simply REFUSE TO WORK, so that they will be fired and can collect the 6 months severance that they are owed. The system there is very backwards / socialist, and it a major contributing factor to why they have such a weak economy, and virtually no middle class. It's "Welfare Gone Wild"....

Becareful what you wish for. I have of family living in Canada and they say don't believe the hype. Unless you are famous, rich or an athlete you take a number and wait. My uncle had a mild heart attack and needed a stint. His appointment was four months later and had a second heart attack waiting for his appt. Here it is done the next day. Plus, the amount of taxes they pay is crazy. Why does everyone come to the U.S.A. for their medical treatment? Because it is the best. Not perfect but the best.

What kind of "socialized medicine" and "lavish welfare" do Mexicans receive?

If this NAU thing goes through, can I get affordable health care from the Canadian system?

We can complain all we want but what politicains do behind the scenes, you and I have no control over and we MUST accept the end result! Adis Amrica!
