When Romney said that the advantage in the coming election was on the Democratic side, he spoke the truth. While the actual words for his pronouncement might (or should) have been parsed in a more conciliatory manner, they were honest and truthful.

The deck has been stacked. Every day some new presidential decree comes out of Washington that is an obvious solicitation of votes — politics above all other considerations. With government workers, minorities, the press and unions solidly in the reigning party's camp, and with over 40 percent of our citizens paying no income tax, and still another 40 percent-plus receiving some kind of government stipend, it's a wonder we even have an election.

Easy for a minority to say — that is, a minority that does not fall into the above "stacked deck." A minority whose only vested interest is in the prolonged greatness of our country. A minority who feels strongly that the government is slowly (or quickly) stealing the pride, the motivation and, yes, the honor from its people.

Hard to fault a fellow American a helping hand in time of need. Easy to fault those who manipulate system.

The "truth!" Can we handle it?
