Visit Lodi! tours benefit St. Jorge Winery
Recently, a bus of 53 people (Rotary Club) from Reno, Nev., visited our St. Jorge Winery. This was arranged through Nancy Beckman of Visit Lodi!
The group spent about an hour at St. Jorge enjoying food and wine pairing, winemaking education and in the vineyard grower education. They purchased about $3,400 worth of our wine. They also visited other wineries, had lunch at Michael~David Winery and became great fans of our area.
This happened because the city of Lodi, the Lodi Chamber of Commerce and Lodi Winegrape Commission had the foresight to create an organization to help all Lodi businesses. Lodi is visited by people from everywhere including internationally. Making Lodi a wine destination has elevated us above other depressed areas, supported business and created jobs.
The group from Reno was one of many that Nancy has arranged for us over the three years since we started. Again, thanks, Nancy.

St. Jorge Winery is one of the finest wineries in the area and Vern and his wife are some of the nicest people you can meet. They have some of the best wines and thats due to the excellant care and attention Vern gives his wines. My wife and I renewed our wedding vows there recently and the setting was magnificent. They have an excellant chef from Italy who prepardd the food. She discovered this German loves pasta. I encourage everyone to go and have a taste of some great wines and enjoy the company of some wonsderful people.

Visit Lodi is doing some good work. We recently hosted friends from out of state and they were struck by the contrast between Lodi and the surrounding communities.
I think a lot of that contrast is the result of the great efforts of Nancy Beckman and her partners over the last couple of years.
