I want to report that on Sept. 29, the Redeemer Lutheran Church rented the picnic area at Emerson Park and found the site clean and free of insects and in generally good order, other than normal wear and tear.

Recently in a letter to the editor, “The city needs to work on cleaning Emerson Park of infestation,” the writer commented on the infestation of cockroaches and spiders at the site.

On the contrary, we inspected the park’s “Lion’s Den” on Saturday prior, and found it in good condition. Then on Sunday morning, prior to the beginning of the Redeemer Lutheran Church picnic, we were greeted by park personnel who were there to empty garbage cans and clean the restrooms.

We want to take this opportunity to thank Jeff Hood and the park staff for their work and attention to the park.

Jeffrey Kirst

President

Redeemer Lutheran Church

It doesn't really work Shane's way, either. God needs superstitious humans to exist; without ignorance, God is nothing.
