Truth is higher than freedom. Freedom is higher than peace. There is no peace without freedom, nor freedom without truth. Outside the truth there is only the lie — all wisdom and knowledge outside truth is corrupt and destructive and always leads to error and lawlessness, anarchy and chaos, and misery and death.
My dear old dad used to ask, “How can we arrive at our destination on time when we’re on the wrong train?” Information — i.e., knowledge — is everything, and bad information can put us on the wrong train — lack of knowledge will kill you.
Textbook examples and blackboard illustrations of this truth is all around us. Man’s own frail wisdom and pseudo-knowledge permeates every level of government, business and church. Look at the rank and soil and mayhem and death in the Middle East; all that turmoil, for all of these hundreds of years, is attributable to wrong information, lie upon lie, error upon error, violence upon violence and death upon death.
Like my dad would’ve said, a lot of people headed the wrong way on the wrong train will arrive at the wrong place at the wrong time — how much “wronger” can we get?
