Last month, just before Thanksgiving, the Bread of Life food distribution program distributed food for 325 families in Lodi. Between Lodi, Stockton and Tracy, more than 1,400 families were served.

Kudos go to Vineyard Christian School. They raised enough money to purchase 750 turkeys for hungry families. Thank you, Vineyard Christian School!

This month of December, we will be at Ebenezer Congregational Church on the third Saturday, again passing out food to our clients. This is done by volunteers, rain or shine, freezing or warm — because they are dedicated to feeding people who need just a little more 'til the end of the month. Volunteers are always needed, so if you want to be involved, please show up and let us know!

Bread of Life is also hosting a crab feed and raffle. This will be held at Presentation Church in Stockton on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013. The doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. The cost is only $45 per person and will help support the Bread of Life food ministry program. Tickets can be purchased through Gina Valdez at 209-898-6911.

The economy has been tough on a lot of people for some time. Many people do not realize how many families are affected until they see it for themselves. Along with passing out food, people are served coffee or hot chocolate and a small bite to eat while waiting to get food.

Please help support this ministry by purchasing a ticket to the crab feed or volunteering your time. After all, "There but for the grace of God ..."

This is such a great thing. I just found out about it last month and I try to help out with clothing from my store. God brought the girls into my thrift store to shop and the door was opened to me to help them. Thank you Kerry and Debbie for that special day.
