I read your article relative to the Aspire Public Schools within the Lodi School District. I have two children in Vincent Shelvey Academy. I can attest to every word spoken by Mrs. Faschner and Mrs. Drake.

For all of the negative perceptions about San Joaquin County schools, I can tell you that I could not be happier with the results of my sons' education. They not only demand performance of their instructors but of the students as well.

My sons have benefited in countless ways from their attendance at VSA. I could tell you with a high level of confidence that I would never consider relocating out of San Joaquin County because of this school. They are, in a word, "amazing." The year-to-year development of my sons from an academic and social standpoint is fantastic.

The educators are in constant contact with both positive and negative feedback — all of it helpful, all of it valuable. It shows in test scores. It shows in development compared with other children in other schools. I could not be happier. Thank you for recognizing them.

Must be a slow news cycle. Great, there's been a turkey on the corner. Big deal. I'm tired of hearing about this bird.

I agree, Kevin. I've said it before, I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. You can have both! [thumbup]
