Letter: Not all people in Lodi share Mike Weaver’s assessment of President Obama

This letter is in regards to Mike Weaver’s letter, “President Obama and his policies are dangerous,” Nov. 7.

First of all, not all people in Lodi share his assessment of President Obama, and that includes me. President Obama was born in Hawaii, U.S.A., not Africa! President Obama is a capitalist, not a socialist. Millions of illegal aliens in the United States are not eligible to enroll in the Affordable Care Act and are not legally eligible for SSI. Nobody is going to die because of the Affordable Care Act. That is utterly a ridiculous statement!

Mr. Weaver must get his misinformation from the Tea Party, Citizens United or the Internet, where everything is true — not!

I voted for President Obama and am very proud of it!

Frank Caruso

Please Jo, While I was unable to see you "out" last night, there is little doubt that your guy made a mockery of himself, today. Yeah, I saw it, and I had to close my eyes, from time to time, just to keep from being overcome with emotion; emotion felt in the deepest sense for all of those who would dare to continue in this desperate charade.

I wonder how many Americans lost their health insurance in Obama's "tanked" economy because of layoffs? Ohh, sorry, I know liberals don't want to talk about such things,.

If Mr. Taves (or anyone else for that matter) is sitting pretty with anything it’s most likely because he paid into the system that is now providing him with healthcare. It has nothing to do with his rubbing into the faces of others that he has something they don’t; it’s more like those who want what Mr. Taves has but didn’t do what was necessary to get it shouldn’t whine about not getting it.

All during our lifetimes we get to make choices. Sometimes those choices are not freely made, such as having to contribute to Social Security and Medicare. But because the government made certain assurances to us as a result, we’ve expected them to make good on those promises once the time arrives for them to do so.

I think those who haven’t done those things to assure that they have healthcare, retirement or whatever it is they’ll need down the road but are now expecting others to provide it to them is called the “whiney-hiney” complex.

    "can't construct a simple apology?"

I guess you don't get out very much or watch live presidential news conferences, Mr. Taves.

And since you are most likely sitting pretty with your MediCare benefits you have no worries like millions of others who couldn't get decent healthcare.

It's called the "I got mine" complex.

Mr. Walters wrote: "Again no one can dispute that 4.5 million Americans will loose their health care insurance. Are you one of them?"

No, Mr. Walters, I am not one of THOSE. But I DID lose my health insurance in 2007 when GW Bush tanked the economy and I was the victim of Bush lay-offs.

But, thanks to the ACA, I was able to sign up for good and affordable health insurance, keep my own doctor and, even with a pre-existing condition, I'm not being penalized or charged too much for being a woman.

And you forgot to mention what the debt was when Bush took office and when he left office:

"When Bush took office, the national debt was $5.73 trillion. When he left, it was $10.7 trillion."

And that didn't even count the cost of 2 WARS that he conveniently forgot to add to that!

If this President can't construct a simple apology, then what makes you believe that he, along with his crew, can build something so complex as national insurance exchanges? The truth is that you -- Obama voters -- should be apologizing for allowing this atrocity to be inflicted upon an entire nation. What we needed to do, was to find a way to take pressure off of the health system through the implementation of a reasonable plan -- that would be a plan that was both read, and agreed upon, by both sides. But no! And now look at this mess that was rammed down everyone's throat; It's toxic, and those who sold this poison will be held accountable. The good news is that most of us can still tell the difference between real medicine and candy-coated toxic waste.

Good guess ,but incorrect. Try other sources like Snopes which is owned by David and Barbara Mikkleson who are non political and non partisan, the book Obama's America(Unmaking The American Dream) by Dinesh D'Souza who tries to find any faults he can with Obama and investigated extensively trying to prove that Obama was born in Kenya, not Hawaii and only found proof that Obama was indeed born in Hawaii, or the countless Republicans in the House and Senate who gave up too, since it was like trying to prove the earth is flat. And what about the youtube videos that show Obama claiming he was born in Kenya? I used to wonder why they are only a couple seconds long and not in context or their entirety If Obama's Hawaii birth certificate is fake, then whose name does his birth #,page#,Book# coincide with? It can't be that hard to find out. Oh,I know! The hospital left a bunch of numbered certificates blank and skipped over them, saving them for future immigrant presidential candidates![beam] There's your next conspiracy theory! Thank me.

Archive.org, is a website that caches websites on a regular basis Ms. Bobin. The Dystel.com website, the official website for Dystel & Goderich, Obama’s literary agents, was using the Barack Obama “born in Kenya” language until April 2007, just two months after then-Senator Obama declared his campaign for the presidency.

Archive.org shows that the Dystel website used the following biography for Obama as of April 3, 2007:

"BARACK OBAMA is the junior Democratic senator from Illinois and was the dynamic keynote speaker at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. He was also the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. He was born in Kenya to an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister and was raised in Indonesia, Hawaii, and Chicago. His first book, DREAMS FROM MY FATHER: A STORY OF RACE AND INHERITANCE, has been a long time New York Times bestseller."

Obama launched his presidential campaign in February 2007.

By April 21, 2007, the Obama bio had been changed to state that Obama was born in Hawaii.

Obama had already been a national figure for three years, since the Democratic National Convention in 2004, by the time the biography was changed; he had been a sitting Senator for over two years.

Apparently Mr. Caruso isn't the only one able to ignore Miriam Goderich's “fact checking error” which persisted for sixteen years, through at least three different versions of Jane Dystel’s website, and through at least four different versions of Obama’s own biography.

Out of all the posts, there is one point that no one can dispute, Without any name calling, a country that is 17 trillion dollars in debt, going on $20 trillion is a country that will so no longer be a country. Again no one can dispute that 4.5 million Americans will loose their health care insurance. Are you one of them?

Here is more info to refute Obama's Kenyan birth; Dentist/lawyer Orly Taitz introduced a phony Kenyan birth certificate which was doctored to be Obama's from an anonymous source on 8/2/09.However, the document had the same certificate #, page#, and book#, and similar names as David Bomford, who resides in Australia. After a second attempt at filing claims and taking it to court, Judge Clay Land dismissed her complaint after finding the document falsified and threatened her with sanctions if she filed another frivolous lawsuit. Here's the fun part at the end of the article:A spoof website (The Republic of Kenya Birth Certificate Generator) allows internet users to create their very own fake Certified Registration of Birth documents from Kenya. Maybe you could enlighten us on which high crime or misdemeanors Obama has been charged with. Clinton's were obstructing justice and perjury but as far as I know Obama hasn't been charged with anything. Not one of the scandals leveed against Obama has stuck and after the 60 minute fiasco I guess Benghazi is off the table. Looks kinda like Obama is going to get through his second term without issue and the ACA will be implemented on schedule.

You know Jerome you were pretty sure Obama wouldn’t get elected and you were just as sure he wouldn’t be reelected and now you feel confident he will be impeached do you credit your inaccuracy to misinformation or is it wishful thinking.

“Nearly half of voters polled said they believe the president ‘knowingly deceived’ Americans when he promised they could keep their existing health plans under ObamaCare.” (http://tinyurl.com/ll5n9nu) How about on this forum – anyone care to participate in this poll? I cast my vote for “knowingly deceived.”

Some might consider misconstruing the truth as nitpicking, much like I suppose the president’s deception regarding the Affordable Care Act and his “promises” would classify them as such. Actually, they’re just a few in a long line of half-truths and outright lies surrounding his entire political career (and possibly his entire life).

And now to have former President Clinton advise Mr. Obama regarding telling the truth is simply amazing (unbelievable) - two Democrat “Deceivers-in-Chief” in a row. What’s pitiful are Americans who believe lying to the people to be perfectly acceptable so long as poorly crafted bills become law. I have to wonder now: has this president met the threshold to define “high crimes and misdemeanors?” Wasn’t it just about at this point in Mr. Clinton’s administration that the House of Representatives impeached him? No, it’s off by one year and about a month. Perhaps now is the time to consider such action against President Barack Hussein Obama - or should we wait until he’s in his third term?

The literary agency also updated the text in June 1998, but the part about Obama being born in Kenya was retained.

The text was again updated in February 2005 to reflect the fact that Obama had become a Senator, but Kenya was still listed as his birthplace.

After an April 2007 modification of the text, the passage still read Obama, "was born in Kenya."

Yes, more factual. The National Review (right-wing publication) and Victor Davis Hanson (opinion columnist and military historian - which of course qualifies him to write opinion pieces on a topic that is NOT his area of knowledge).

Nitpicking again, eh, Mr. Kinderman? Who cares whether Mr. Weaver stated "all" or "many." Mr. Weaver wrote with the authority of one who is actually informed, rather than that of one who is repeating unsubstantiated gossip and a serious lack of factual information.

And it seems that since you have finally revealed yourself to be in the "birther" camp along with all of the others in this forum who keep insisting that some big plot was created in 1961 that would allow Barack Hussein Obama (again with the childish inclusion of the middle name - used specifically to denote that not only does the president have a foreign sounding name, but also a name most often associated with Muslims) to become the POTUS, your credibility is seriously at stake.

As for lying about the ACA, that has yet to be determined. As for now, "ill-informed" or "ill-advised" (as in the people charged with KNOWING what the law said actually didn't know) is more appropriate. But no doubt, this will end up being the cause for the right to rise up again with their cries of "impeachment," "treason," and the best one yet from the TEA Party, "come out of the White House with your hands up, Obama!"

This case is somewhat like those in the Bush Administration who told the president that Saddam had WMD's when he actually didn't. But in this case, at least we won't have 4500 American lives wasted (over 4300 since "Mission Accomplished") and anywhere from 30,000 to 100,000 lives (and families) destroyed by wounding and maiming, along with anywhere from 100,000 - 600,000 Iraqis killed in the war.

Most likely, "we," as in "they," the president and his advisors, didn't realize the extent of the number of health insurance policy holders who had lousy coverage that didn't comply with the ACA guidelines. Seems they're going to fix that now and pass an amendment stating that those who love their worthless and affordable coverage and who refuse to participate in the exchanges because they are opposed to the ACA "can keep their current insurance." Good - let them have it!

“First of all,” it gets just a tad old and somewhat annoying when writers assert certain things as fact when the truth is staring them right in the face. The author of this letter states: “First of all, not all people in Lodi share his assessment of President Obama, and that includes me,” regarding Mr. Mike Weaver’s letter of November 7th. Such a statement would have many believing that Weaver actually wrote that “all” people in Lodi share his assessments. Yet, a quick look-see at his letter reveals that he wrote: “I know that there are many people who live in Lodi who feel the same way I do about President Obama.” There’s a big difference between “all” and “many.” But who cares, right?

Still, I wonder why Mr. Caruso is so adamant regarding the president’s birthplace that it warrants an exclamation point. Could it be that in spite of that little bit of excessive punctuation there might be some truth behind the idea that Barack Hussein Obama might very well have been born elsewhere? Of course at this point it makes absolutely no difference. After all, he’s well into his second (and last) term as President of the United States. And even if it was revealed beyond much of a doubt that he is not a natural born citizen of this country, there’s very little that could be done about it. My only hope is that from now on each candidate’s basic qualifications to hold any public office are vetted properly. Considering that two of the three pieces of proof necessary are on their birth certificates, it shouldn’t take an act of Congress to deal with it – or maybe it does! But again, who cares, right?

As for the rest of both of these letters, they contain not much more than two individuals offering their opinion about some things that have this president roiled in controversy. Nevertheless, I’m rather happy that Mr. Caruso is proud that he voted for Mr. Obama. Of course I’m not really sure how anyone could be “proud” of this man considering the current state of our nation. Did he actually lie about certain things regarding the Affordable Care Act? Only someone deaf and blind might harbor some doubts. Oh yeah! He lied alright. But hey, who cares, right? The fact is, not enough Americans care much at all in order to make a difference. And because of that I’m hardly proud of them either.
