On behalf of the students and staff of Live Oak School, I would like to thank the Live Oak 4-H Club for the yard cleanup event they sponsored on Oct. 27 at our site. The Live Oak 4-H Club has been affiliated with Live Oak School for more than 60 years and has members from schools around the area.

About 35 4-H members, youths and parents, came to plant flowers around our marquee, spread fresh bark in the flower garden in front of the office and rake and bag leaves. Mrs. Michele Myers, dedicated 4-H Club leader for the past 22 years, supervised the tasks and provided snacks to maintain everyone's energy.

During the break, 4-H officers presented Live Oak School with a check for $1,000 to use for educational purposes. Mrs. Susan Dudley and her daughter Taylor were instrumental in obtaining this grant from PG&E.

We are very appreciative of this large donation and will put it to good use during these tough economic times. The entire Live Oak community was grateful to find a spruced up exterior on Monday morning. We thank the Live Oak 4-H Club from the bottom of our collective heart for their large donation and generous community service.
