Letter: Mass migration will hurt our nation

This is concerning Lodi News-Sentinel article “Jeb Bush: Illegal migration is an “act of love,” April 8.

Jeb says that being an illegal immigrant is an act of commitment to your family, and he thinks its OK since it’s not a felony. So let’s carry this idea to its slippery end. Let’s release all the mommies and daddies in prison that haven’t committed a felony because, after all, they did it out of love for family, and it’s wrong to separate the kids from their parents. Let’s do it for the children.

Republicans complain that Obama is lawless and picks and chooses what laws to enforce or not to enforce. Then ol’ Jeb proves he is just as lawless as Obama, and Jeb’s party is no different than Obama’s.

Even though there are many good people who get here illegally, there are also many bad ones who mean to do us harm. We need to have an orderly and lawful migration so we can know who is who. An unconditional mass migration of people from all over the world will destroy us or any other nation.

And as for bringing Latinos back to the GOP, when have they ever had a majority of the Latino vote? Bush had about 40 percent on his second term, but on average the Republican party gets maybe 30 percent of their votes, even after Reagan’s amnesty.

If Jeb runs for president, do you believe this man would secure our borders? Not likely. I was reading about another tunnel the border patrol found in San Diego. Do we start calling these tunnels of love?
