I’m was calmly reading your article about the town meeting, “Pensions focus of Lodi town hall,” on Oct. 15 when it came to Brennand, an SEIU representative, mentioning how wonderful that public retirees pensions stimulate the economy. That’s on par with Pelosi’s statement that unemployment checks and food stamp money are good for the economy. So let’s all get on unemployment and gorge ourselves with “free” food. Nothing is free!
Brennand says the problems caused by public employee pensions isn’t their fault — of course not! It’s the city’s fault. Like all leftists, it’s never their fault when — because of their policies — the economy tanks. I’m surprised the Tea Party wasn’t blamed.
What really got me steamed was the comment from Nancy Vinson, another union representative, who said, “If you don’t support the people who have a paycheck, they can’t contribute to the economy.” Where in the heck do you think you get your paycheck, Ms. Vinson? You get it from the private sector, whose money is confiscated by force if need be to pay for your exorbitant wages and unfunded pensions that now exceed $90 billion statewide. So when you say we should support the people who have a paycheck, I agree, because we in the private sector are the ones with the paycheck that pays for your wage and pensions, and the ones who are supporting you are millions less since this Marxist president came into power!
I’m not the only one who has had enough of public employees using tactics to extort more money from their employers — us. Look at BART. Enough already!
