Taking away rights is not the answer

A true politician takes advantage of every situation to advance their career, and some are already doing so; taking guns from God-fearing people seems to them to be fair in their minds. To Washington, this seems to be the solution to all the problems of the world — remove the guns from law-abiding people. Criminals have guns, and have more rights than people living within the law.

Let's not control some of the bloodthirsty video games that kids are buying, which are so realistic that kids can't distinguish between fantasy and reality. Don't think of controls on video games, that must be another civil right. Attorney General Kamala Harris issued a guidance that will allow law enforcement to ignore federal guidelines on emigration. Bless her heart. If you commit a crime and you're here illegally, don't worry; you're safe from prosecution or being deported. Our state and federal laws are slowly being destroyed, along with the vote of the people.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein said on Dec. 16 that gun control is on her agenda, no doubt about that. Twenty-two children were injured that same day by a knife-weilding maniac in China. I wonder if the Chinese government thought about confiscating all the knives in China. This is the second time this has happened in China in the last few years — one with 20 children dying. (By the way, leaving the law-abiding people without a way of defense is obscene.)

Adam Lanza, the person behind the shooting in Newtown, Conn., had mental problems. How are you going to stop a person like that from reaching his goal — hide all the knives, the ball bats? He will find a way. The only thing a politician can think of is more hardship on the American people — either tax us or take away some of our rights.

Bring your political rating above 10 percent; think before you react. Maybe your ratings will work their way from the bottom of the barrel.
