U.S. is still here, despite dire predictions
The sequester is now upon us and the sky hasn't fallen yet, as Mr. Obama has been preaching all over the U.S. This was his idea, although he has tried to blame everyone else. The White House now admits this, and he still demands more spending and taxation.
Our country's defenses, of course, are at most risk, but if you have read any of his writings, you know this is all part of his plan to downsize America and spread her wealth around. He is determined to take from hard-working people and give to those who have no desire to work, and thus create a wholly dependent populace.
Mr. Portal was right on with his letter, but this can be taken even further. What about the study of social habits of fish or the mating habits of bullfrogs? Hundreds of thousands more in unnecessary spending. What about lavish seminar parties for the GSA or other departments? Millions spent on imbibing and wild goings-on.
And of course, the Democrats are blaming the Republicans — but then, maybe they should be blamed. It seems they are the only ones trying to do something for the American people while the Democrats have not passed a budget in four years, and continue to sit on their thumbs. Harry Reid has tabled every plan sent over from the House. As long as Mr. Obama is in office, expect things to get worse. Nothing yet has been done about Benghazi or Fast and Furious, two terrible tragedies. Mr. Obama is not a friend to America.

The sequester is just notice to the public in terms that it can understand.

I would of endorsed an idiot like Charley Sheen over Obama or for that matter a can of beans. Anything would of been preferable over this pathological lier.

Ron Portal siad:
The framers feared gov't and made sure that there would be checks and balances that would prevent an all powerful centralized gov't run by elites over a people with no representation or say in their own individual lives.
They had reason to be afraid for it has come to pass. Big corporations and the super wealthy run this country.

"Mr. Portal has certainly made his opposition to the bulk of it [the Constitution] plain over the course of his interminable rants on these pages"
How about some examples there, Stevie. Being one who loves our Constitution and finding out that I'm suddenly in "opposition to the bulk of it" causes great consternation in me. Please, oh sage, enlighten this poor uneducated and miserable excuse of a man. Let me bathe in thy knowledge that comes from on high to this miserable unwashed soul. Save me Stevie from my ignorance because I know In your heart of hearts you love me and only want the best for me and other miscreants like me...because that's just what liberals do.

In Federalist 51 Madison wrote "In framing a gov't which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the gov't to control the governed; and in the next place OBLIGE IT TO CONTROL ITSELF." I suppose you feel our gov't is controlling themselves and not going into areas it has no constitutional authority to do? Have you heard or read of the enumerated powers of the federal gov't in our Constitution? Its main responsibility is to protect us from enemies outside our borders. To have a strong military is the federal gov'ts job and without it the liberties and freedoms we enjoy today would be gone. Its size and scope can be debated but we must have it nonetheless. The framers gave the federal gov't LIMITED powers that includes national defense, immigration, issuing currency, raising revenue to operate the national gov't, foreign relations, resolving conflicts between states, and certain other specific, enumerated circumstances could the federal gov't have primary [if not exclusive] power. The framers feared gov't and made sure that there would be checks and balances that would prevent an all powerful centralized gov't run by elites over a people with no representation or say in their own individual lives. As for the unsavory characters that endorse Obama..if that doesn't set off any alarms in your head of what Obama is doing nothing I could say will convince you otherwise. And, please, stop with the Bush this and Bush that...as if I'm a Bushite. The Bush family has been one of the most destructive dynasties to assault the American nation in its history. If the republicans nominate Jeb Bush for president I will, for the first time since I was eligible to vote, not go to the polls. Karl Rove is the devil in a pigs suit and is the enemy of freedom. I could go on with others but I'll end up with your reference to Andrew Jackson who historians mark as the beginning of the modern democratic party. He was a racist, segregationalist like most democrats of that age. He hated Indians and caused the great Cherokee migration to the Indian territory in Oklahoma known as the Trail of Tears where large numbers of Cherokee died. This, even though the tribe had won their suit against the gov't to stay in the land of their ancestors. But what is the law to a democrat of that or any age? He also left the United States in a severe economic depression. So other than being one mean son-of-a-bitch he really isn't much of a great man. Tom Paine's statement was against the English, the French or any other gov't that becomes tyrannical.

Mr Portal
What drival logic. "...a smaller more efficient gov't that lives within its means and constraints that the founding fathers instituted..."? Is that why we spend the enormous amounts on military defense that exceeds the combined spending of many other nations? Is that why we have standing armies all over the world not to mention warships? Wake up man we are not in the 17th or 18th centuries anymore. We have evolved and you and the tea parties need to advance to the more complex challenges we face. Conservatives continue to use the constitution to serve their cause while denying the other half of the country has any rights or opinions at all.
We don't like the founding fatherw because we disagree with conservatives? What drival logic. You continue to rev yourself up with all the conservative medias that fill you with ideas that are meant to make you feel you know more than anyone else and are more patriotic than anyone else. And that is why they call it the bubble.
You belittle your intelligence saying "During the election Hamas, Hugo Chavez, FARC, Almedinejad, Fidel Castro, North Korea, Louis Farrakhan, and the Communist Party of the USA all openly endorsed Obama." So did many of our allied countries. Obama was respected because they all had enough of G Bush. Which would you rather have? To say some questionable people (in your mind) supported Obama along with scores of others is meaningless. I myself really don't care. You know Andrew Jackson hung around with a pirate. Does this diminish him in your views? Its a good thing he did too.
Yes extremist. One who will find it more satisfying to achieve a paper goal at the expense of large numbers of real people.
And Thomas Paine, as an American patriot, was talking about the British government.

Ahmed Yousef, Hamas' chief political adviser, has in fact spoken highly of Obama in an April 2008 interview with WABC Radio in New York.
Ron Portal posted at 5:08 am on Fri, Mar 15, 2013.
Always choose fear? How many times are we told by Obama and his ilk that the world is ending? The only way we can be saved is by giving our freedoms and liberties over to the state who alone can save our pitiful souls.
People are tired of a crisis every week with this party that only gov't can save us and not the people, the individual who when unfettered by gov't is the greatest economic engine in human history. When Reagan said that gov't is not the solution to our problems gov't IS the problem[!] he was echoing what our founding fathers believed. I believe in America and it's people.. Obama does not.

Steve Schmidt posted at 7:35 pm on Thu, Mar 14, 2013.
Have we forgotten that Ron Portal endorsed the President's opponent in the last election? I would think the support of such a questionable character would have been enough to make any good American think twice about supporting the now forgotten GOP millionaire.
Steve Schmidt posted at 7:33 pm on Thu, Mar 14, 2013.
Andrew, I suspect that an endorsement from Hamas (if such a thing were ever to actually happen) would be an impediment rather than an aid to f an American candidate for any office.
Steve Schmidt posted at 7:31 pm on Thu, Mar 14, 2013.
I have yet to meet a so called "conservative" who actually supported the Constitution. Mr Portal has certainly made his opposition to the bulk of it plain over the course of his in terminable rants on these pages.
Andrew Liebich posted at 9:17 am on Thu, Mar 14, 2013.
Mr. Portal asked a simple question, "How do you feel about an American President being supported by such groups?"
Is your failure to answer an act of love or fear? [sleeping]
John Lucas posted at 9:06 am on Thu, Mar 14, 2013.
The right wing extremists like you Ron are not marginalized by Liberals. It is own words that condemn you. In every moment of every day we only have two choices. Act out of love or act out of fear. You always choose fear.
Doug Chaney posted at 8:37 am on Thu, Mar 14, 2013.
Mr. Lucas, more like the Lodi News Sentinel edition of "faux" news.
Ron Portal posted at 4:58 am on Thu, Mar 14, 2013.
The "right wing" ?? Isn't it amazing that people who believe in the Constitution, Federalist papers, the Bill of Rights, a smaller more efficient gov't that lives within its means and constraints that the founding fathers instituted are maligned, made fun of and marginalized and called extremists by the all knowing all compassionate liberal which by association means they feel the same about our founding fathers. So, Mr. Lucas, you think we pick on your man Obama ? During the election Hamas, Hugo Chavez, FARC, Almedinejad, Fidel Castro, North Korea, Louis Farrakhan, and the Communist Party of the USA all openly endorsed Obama. How do you feel about an American President being supported by such groups? With the history of Obama being associated with individuals and groups that hate America its little wonder anyone would be against such a man. Thomas Paine said...the duty of a true patriot is to protect his country from its gov't.
John Lucas posted at 1:37 am on Thu, Mar 14, 2013.
The right wing roundup (otherwise know as the LSN letters to the editor) continues. It is amazing there is not one person in Lodi who does not bash the President, the Democrats and especially Liberals. Who knew?

Ms. Glick,
Didn't you hear?
The Department of Homeland Security is so broke it must release 10,000 ILLEGAL immigrants while at the same time it builds new detention centers that cost tens of millions of dollars each to construct and operate.
