I would like to share a bit of good news with you and your readership. Two weeks ago, the Lodi Community Art Center presented a $3,720 check to the Lodi Unified School District in order to help save and foster arts education in our schools. Please note that the Lodi Community Art Center is a completely volunteer organization, and having been in operation for the past 68 years, its purpose is to promote local artists and their craft. In addition, it awards local scholarships to our children.

The $3,720 that the Lodi Community Art Center donated basically represented the bulk of the proceeds from the opening night of their 52nd Spring Art Show at Woodbridge Winery. In a day and age when the arts seem to be under constant attack, it is refreshing to see a local organization step up to help with arts education in our schools.
