People of Lodi, I have a way to bring down the gas prices. It will take everyone to do it, though.

There are four major gas stations in town. Years ago, when coffee and meat got so expensive, the lady of the house wouldn't buy them — the prices came down. We should not buy any gas from the top gas stations for three weeks. It will take everybody to do it.

Come on, Lodi, oil has come down more than $10 a barrel and gas is still more than $4 a gallon.

Ok I just filled my gas tank and I'm ready to go on strike.

Many people don't understand the price of gas. Like Mr Adams said you only hurt the gas jockeys. Oil prices are set on the global market so if everyone in Lodi, Stockton and even Sacramento didn't buy gas for a month it would not make a dent in the global market.

These kinds of schemes are universally failures. People need gas to get to work. People have a wide selection of foods they can buy to feed themselves. All these these types of boycotts do is hurt the little guy who owns the gas station. If you don't buy gas on Monday, you'll buy it on Tuesday or Wednesday. You're gonna buy gas.

You really should check these kinds of ideas out before you write a letter to the editor.

Good letter John, guess it's time to fire up the old rickshaw.
