On behalf of the students and staff of Lincoln Technical Academy, I want to thank the nearly 100 community members who volunteered their time to serve as interviewers in our second annual schoolwide mock interview event.

Lincoln Technical Academy "puts education to work" by immersing students from all area high schools, private schools, charter schools and adults in current, industry-relevant training environments that prepare them for careers in a variety of viable industries.

The mock interviews assisted nearly 600 students in developing the critical skills they will need to stand out in a crowd of applicants. By all accounts, they performed superbly!

I had the opportunity to speak with many of our students as they exited their interviews. They all felt extremely positive about their performances.

Toward the end of the day, I asked one young lady what she took away from the experience.

With a huge smile, she replied, "I realize that I have a lot more to offer than I originally believed. And that gives me more confidence in myself."

Wow! That is your gift to our students.

We'd like to publish the names of all volunteers in the Lodi News-Sentinel, but I'm sure they'd rather we invest that money in our students. So we've published their names on our website.

Thank you, again, for your valuable gifts of time and expertise!
