Thank you, John Slaughterback, for proving what others have been saying for years: Galt needs educational reform.

Slaughterback's letter to the editor is poorly written and difficult to understand. Galt's educational growth has been stunted by the actions of Pat Maple. Pat Maple does not only offer praise, as Slaughterback wrote, but has quoted one of the key architects of the Third Reich to make a point. I agree with Slaughterback in that Pat Maple is sending a powerful signal, but I do not agree that it is a positive one.

So, now there is a "double standard", one for public figures and one for the average citizen? More liberal hogwash.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
