On behalf of the City of Lodi’s GrapeLine and MV Transportation, we want to thank everyone who helped make this year’s Stuff the Bus Food Drive a huge success on Nov. 22 through 24.
With the community’s generosity, the city of Lodi was able to collect 8,415 pounds of food for Salvation Army Lodi Corps, enough to make 6,732 meals!
And because Lodi’s Stuff the Bus food drive was part of a regional effort, almost 30,000 pounds of food were collected: San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) collected 16,665 pounds, Escalon eTrans collected 1,330 pounds, and Boy Scouts of America Greater Yosemite Council collected 3,440 pounds. Together, the total of 29,850 pounds of food will provide 23,880 meals; many of these meals were served during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Our regional success could not have been achieved without the generous donations made by our community members and the hard work of our volunteers, local staff and partners at Food-4-Less and Cumulus Broadcasting (including live broadcasts from KWIN).
Special recognition should be given to the many students from Lodi, Tokay and McNair high schools for their energetic participation.
City of Lodi GrapeLine and MV Transportation staff appreciates our community’s support through the annual Stuff the Bus food drive. By working together, we were able to assist residents in need this holiday season. Thank you.
