I am 84 and have seen a lot of stuff happen in this country. I was born in SoCal, went to NorCal for college, then to Texas to pursue a career in the oil business.

In 1957, the Saudis were putting oil in tankers for 10 cents a barrel, and the U.S. oil business went in the tank. I then moved to Bozeman, Mont. and went into the construction and development business. The timing was bad for that move, and in 1967 I moved to Lodi to help develop the north shore recreation area of Camanche Lake. That job ended, and I ended up as a builder here.

I found Lodi a wonderful place to live, being close to many wonderful attractions.

The biggest mistake that has been made in the USA was not shutting down the large amount of immigration from countries whose culture is so different from ours.
