Since Oct. 22, we’ve been following the Lodi car crash and have been with the family members since that day. We, along with the family, were at the car wash on Oct. 26 and on that day money was just pouring in and there were so many cars that were in a long line.

As to the day of the Mirandas’ funeral at St. Anne’s Church, it was a very sad day for Lodians. We were at the funeral to say our goodbyes to the victims.

One good thing about Lodi, it’s always been a very caring community for kids. Everyone gets involved. This tragedy is the worst in Lodi’s history.

We, the Ventura family, wish to thank all Lodi police and the Lodi Fire Department for all they did.

Joey Ventura Jr.

Then let's tear down the "Berlin Wall" that exists in Lodi separating the east side from the west side. Drunks come in all shapes and colors and Lodi has more than their share of winos due to the inundation of the many cheap wine tasting rooms now in downtown livable, lovable Lodi

Unless you are a particular activist who stated earlier this week on a different letter that the reason more people didn't show up to the memorial services was because it was a Hispanic family and those that didn't show are all racists.

On a different note: Sadly the tragedy has NOT changed the driving patterns of most Lodians. I have continued to see people pass me on Harney in the school zone. Seen many large vehicles run red lights cause they are in a hurry and still see people more concerned with their cell phones than the safety of others on the road.

Great response. And the only one I've seen from the Caucasian Lodi community without name calling and the old vigilante attitude. Where are the good ol' boys and their compassion for the east side and minority community? Typical racist Lodi.

Lodi is a Small Community of Strength, hope, Love and Family. Yes, we have had a Horrific Event that caused Pain not only for the Families involved in the Car Accident, but continued pain for the unknown reasons Why this Man would Choose to get behind a wheel and drive recklessly, at high speeds and under the influence of alcohol in a vehicle that did not belong to him? As a community, we take a look at our families and we hope and pray that the teachings that we send our own children off into the world with, will be of fruition and those of what Jesus's teachings' are. As a mother, it would be very difficult for me to see one of my children going down a path of disaster and Not Intervene. It is easier to look away, deny reality, and just get them out of high school or age 18, whereas you think your done. However, Our Children are a reflection of How We Parented. As a Nurse, I have heard every denial, every excuse, avoidances, drug addictions, victims, poor parenting, etc. etc. etc. Who Am I To Judge? It is with a Compassion of Jesus Christ to be of Service to Others, as He Has Given Us. Healing begins with Opening Our Eyes to Reality, accepting Our Failures, and Asking Our Heavenly Father to Assist in the Healing Process of Forgiveness and Change. This is Not Easy! After this event, as a Mom, trying to understand the events that lead up to this man choosing to use a vehicle, alcohol and speed to escape whatever his pain is...it is hard to say Forgiveness is in the forefront of the healing process, I am Angry! My prayers will continue to be directed to the Treasured Lives that were taken, the young child who lost his entire family and the man who needs to seek forgiveness with His God, his family, and be strong enough to ask forgiveness from his community; especially the lives who he so carelessly has taken. Only then, will We Continue to Be a Strong Community. God Bless Ya'll to Make Good Choices that reap healthy Families and Communities.
