This is for Lodi, Galt and surrounding areas of Lodi. I would like to ask your help this Saturday, May 10, with our national canned food drive.

This is an annual event that the National Association of Letter Carriers has helped with for over 20 years. We pick up canned or non-perishable food items from your mailbox and then deliver them to the Salvation Army here in Lodi.

Whether it’s one can or a large bag, we will pick it up. If you have a cluster mailbox, please leave it at the box and we will pick it up.

If you live in an apartment, please leave it near the mailboxes. This is a long, hard day for the carriers and any assistance is appreciated.

We will also accept canned donations at the post office. There will be large barrels; please feel free to leave donations there if that is convenient for you.

I have personally toured the Salvation Army warehouse where the food is stored and was shown how the process is handled. This canned food drive greatly helps get the hungry through the summer months, and we need your help.

So please help us to Stamp Out Hunger! Thank you.
