In regards to the graduation being held in Stockton, I feel that our children should be allowed to graduate in our hometown. It was my understanding that the Grape Bowl was being fixed for use of the people of Lodi.

I graduated from Lodi High School, as did my husband and two sons. All of us were fortunate to have our graduation at the Grape Bowl. It is a tradition at the graduation to have our parents and friends cheering us on in our own hometown. Also, the flower girls added a great deal of pomp and circumstance for those of us who graduated from the Grape Bowl.

I did support the funding for the repair of the Grape Bowl with the hope that it would be used as it has been for the citizens of Lodi. These graduates of Lodi and Tokay high schools are our future of Lodi.

Come on, Lodi City Council, let’s have our kids stay home for their memories of a very important date in their lives.
