First it was the Savings and Loans scandal with John McCain in the middle, then Enron and now the mortgage scam, and it is all due to Republican deregulation.

It is time to stop the corruption of corporate crime in America with John McCain bought and paid for by the lobbyists of the fat cats of huge corporations.

While top company officials are profiting enormously from unethical actions, investors are losing their life savings and employees are losing both their jobs and their retirement funds. The ripple effect from these corporate scandals is damaging the financial security of America. This goes beyond the current administration.

Leaders thought government was tied to special interests that fund their campaign - special interest controls the agenda.

Congress needs to end these scandals, press for punishment of those responsible and take action to close the loopholes exploited by corporate executives.

.Arne is beating the Liberal Democratic drum when he brings up the Keating Five (Savings and Loan Scandal) and John McCain. After a lengthy Keating 5 investigation, the Senate Ethics Committee determined that Alan Cranston, Dennis DeConcini, and Donald Riegle had substantially and improperly interfered with the FHLBB in its investigation of Lincoln Savings.Senators John Glenn and John McCain were cleared of having acted improperly.Seems to liberal democrats that even "innocent after being proven NOT guilty" doesn't make a man innocent (McCain) and "guilty after pleading innocent" makes a man innocent (Clinton and Impeachment).

U.S House Under Martial Law - Confirmed by C-SpanWashington, Sep 28 - Under the martial law procedure, long-standing House rules that require at least one day between the unveiling of significant legislation and the House floor vote on that legislation so that Members can learn what they are being asked to vote on are swept away. Instead, under martial law, the Leadership can file legislation with tens or hundreds of pages of fine print and move immediately to debate and votes on it, before Members of Congress, the media, or the public have an opportunity to understand fully what provisions have been altered or inserted into the legislation behind closed doors. This is the procedure that the Leadership intends to use to muscle through important bills in the next two days. http://www.republicmedia.tv/index.php?option=com_seyret&task=videodirectlink&id=248

It sounds to me from the speech below that the "Martial law" declared by Pelosi is indeed a form of dictatorship in the halls of Congress. Kaptur confirms what we heard from other Representatives that the bailout bill is being negotiated behind closed doors and that Representatives and indeed whole committees are being excluded from the process.Indeed this seems like a repeat of the tactics by which a small minority cursed this nation with the federal reserve back in 1913.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAADyc6t4nYAnother rep on the floor:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Csthf_CQsjoSometimes, a photo sums it all uphttp://mobiusinformer.wordpress.com/2008/09/28/sometimes-a-photo-sums-it-all-up/
