Letter: Lodi should save surplus for later

Why the $647,000 in city bonuses, “Lodi City Council approves one-time bonus for city staff,” Jan. 16? Because of a surplus? That’s nice for the employees.

I hope you’re not still planning on raising the water rates so the rest of us can still afford to live here.

Have you ever heard of saving for a rainy day like the rest of us? Except now it’s saving to survive.
