I am sure you have seen the distortions and mistruths Ricky Gill's opponent Jerry McNerney has circulated.

McNerney criticizes Ricky's youth and asserts his lack of experience. I am not impressed with what the "experienced" folks have done in Washington. McNerney has crowed how he loves the San Joaquin Valley. He loves it so much that he has rented a house in Stockton, but continues to live in his home in Pleasanton. His campaign flyers state Ricky lives with his parents, receives an allowance from them and is registered to vote at his parents' home — all untrue

McNerney championed the $500 million loan to now-bankrupt Solyndra, and then took campaign contributions from investors of Solyndra. When he ran for Congress, gasoline was less than $2 a gallon. In his book "Clean Energy Nation," he advocates high gasoline prices and taxes that he calls a "down payment for the future."

When he first ran for Congress, it was with a promise that he would fight to eliminate the debt. Since that time, the national debt has risen over $6 trillion. He has not cast one vote to reduce federal expenditures. As a matter of fact, he is so dedicated to raising the debt that he has consistently voted against a balanced budget amendment. Can we afford any more of his stewardship?

Ricky is the new generation. It is his generation that is going to get us out of the fiscal mess Jerry McNerney and his mentor Nancy Pelosi helped create. Ricky deserves an opportunity to make a difference for his generation, and his children's and grandchildren's generations. I urge you to vote for Ricky Gill for U.S. Congress.

Jerry Glenn
