Let's see, California's unemployment rate is around 11.5 percent. The state is about $42 billion in debt. Gangs, drugs and illegal immigration are increasing problems. And, our illustrious legislature is spending time worrying about the horrible evil of Styrofoam cups and plates — those dastardly purveyors of wickedness that, if allowed to continue their carnage of holding coffee and food, will destroy life as we know it on this planet. Bye-bye even more businesses and jobs.

Wait, and that's not all! They now want to tax Internet purchases, further driving business away from the state.

But they're not though yet! As a bonus, they will also cut budgets on the things that matter most — police, education, fire fighting — while still holding on to excessive government waste, pet programs and their cushy lifestyle.

Oh, as an even bigger bonus our politicians will add even more! In 2009, as California was sinking financially faster than the Titanic sank in the Atlantic, our state government got enamored with homosexual activist and politician Harvey Milk and spent time, and our tax money, making sure he got a special day. How absurd!

And to think that we vote these guys in and actually pay them to do this! Isn't it time we the people hold our elected officials accountable and vote them out if they continue this ridiculous behavior? As you sip your coffee from a Styrofoam cup this morning, think about it.
