Gays covet what straight people have

The homosexual marriage issue and agenda is a troubling, but interesting moral and social phenomenon.

Like pride, homosexuality is a lie and is built on pride and coveting, which is the vehement desire or lust for what others have. Homosexuality is a fake and counterfeit of the real thing, and a poor one at that.

Homosexuality is the sexualized coveting of what the homosexual doesn't have, namely a real normal relationship with the opposite sex, which is evidently designed for a fulfilling and prolific life and continuation of the species.

Fornication — including adultery, pornography, pedophilia, pederasty and homosexuality — all lead to the destruction of the family unit, which is the building block and foundation of civilization.

Our children are being brainwashed to deny the plan and design of creation for the chaos of evolution, and to accept evolution and fornication as true and good. This lie is being supported and perpetuated by the bigger lie that homosexuality is of genetic cause rather than of choice.

Dr. Francis Collins, Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient for his work in sequencing the human genetic code (DNA) and his work in the field of epigenetic markers, has, in fact, proven that homosexuality is not genetically "hardwired."

Dr. Collins reported that the study of identical twins and same-sex attraction showed "born gay" to be untrue. Epigenetic markers or "chemical tags" on our DNA helps explain how our bodies express their DNA and how we are susceptible to certain diseases and behaviors like cancer and homosexuality based on the presence or absence of these epigenetic markers.

The study and knowledge of these chemical tags on our DNA show these markers can be short-lived or lasting for generations, and gives new meaning to "plan and design," and also adds to our understanding of the scriptural words: "The iniquity of the fathers being visited upon the children unto the third and fourth generations of them that hate me."

I don't know if this thread is still open but I, like Eric, came to the LTE page without benefit of looking at the printed paper. All I saw was three gay bashing LTEs after living through the holiday LTEs commenting on the "LGBT float" in the "festival of lights." At the time the comments were numerous and bitter and when I submitted a favorable parade float letter all comments were blocked. So again my surprise Saturdays letters were here and open for comment. I made my comments and had I known of the request for submissions on the topic and of all the columnists comments my comments would have been different. I stand by my comments I just would have said them differently. I make no apologies. Just so you know.

PS I still don't like religious sermons in the LTE section.

Simon: when I responded to today’s letter I had not seen the local columnist section of the opinion page. It does appear the LNS has assembled a well-rounded group of individuals to debate this topic. Having said that I stand by my assessment of today’s LTEs. I don’t understand how Mr. Fields continues to get his letters printed I have seen comments removed that were less offensive. Mr. Coleman’s letter was no better and although she hides behind her Bible Mrs. Hadden’s letter was as offensive as any I’d read, her comment equating homosexuality with sickness breaks multiple ground rules.

Of course I can't speak for Mr. Barrow's motives regarding his statement about "gay bashing," but I suspect that he MIGHT have been referring to the LNS providing the opportunity for the "usual suspects," i.e., WVAF and regular commenters who always seem to offer their filth whenever the subject of homosexuality arises.

To these individuals, homosexuals are not PEOPLE, they are merely SEX ACTS on which they must elaborate in order to prove how "despicable" (as one commenter stated) gays and lesbians are. Laughable, really, in light of the huge heterosexual pornography business - but I guess as long as it is "opposite sex" perversion, it's all OK.

I personally found that the columns written by local religious leaders to be quite refreshing and not at all what I expected when I saw Saturday's opinion page. I am glad that many were supportive of the gay community and those whose religious beliefs do not allow them to be as generous were at least very civil in expressing their opinions.

Eric: I've discussed your comment with Marty and Rich. Our intention was to be open to all voices. We think we largely succeeded. We're curious, Eric, how you conclude we're indulging in "gay bashing" when we provided Brian Ratto, David Diskin and AmyJo Mattheis the opportunity to argue in favor of same-sex marriage. And from the churches, The Rev. Katsuya Kusunoki states that same-sex marriage is OK with Buddhists.
Also, if you read to the bottom of Brian Ratto's column, you'll notice that he is currently working for the News-Sentinel as an intern.
As for the letters to the editor, we published each one submitted. We did not receive any in favor of same-sex marriage. But Eric, here's the wonderful thing about the Internet and news websites like ours: If you would like to write a letter in favor of same-sex marriage, we'll be happy to add it to the other letters here. It’s not too late.
And, of course, anyone can add comments in support of same-sex marriage to any of the columns or letters.

I guess its gay bashing day at the LNS. Remarkable that society is trending in one direction and our local rag can't seem to recognize that. I don't pay anything anymore for the paper just follow online so I shouldn't complain but I think I will add a boycott of anyone advertising in our little publication. This means you Mokelumne Credit Union, no more brunch at Wine and Roses that's all right David's Country Kitchen is just as good and much less pretentious. Heritage Oak Wines I will be drinking someone else’s. Oops just saw a pop-up for hotwire never liked them much anyway. We have so little disposable income these days it's really not hard to be choosey about who gets any of it. It does trouble me to not support a local company but with the insistence of the LNS to constantly bombard us with the likes of Amberfield or Pittsburgh Joe I don’t think this particular local company is doing this community any good.

I was slightly wrong. Collins says 13 billion years old:

    And on the universe:

Though most who have studied the matter conclude it's about 4.5

Mr. Diskin: I will accept the fact when Dr. Collins states that the earth is 8 billion years old, give or take a million. Billy has gone off the deep end this time along with the LNS in printing his thoughts, at least with no help from his dear ol` dad. His rant makes me wonder if man is somewhat like the animal kingdom, by that I mean in every group of animals there is an alpha male, has that regressed to humans? Only in hyenas the male is not dominate as the female is. Joanne, difficult to stay on the straight and narrow when I read Billy`s post, but I made it.

What gay couples covet is the same civil rights as straight couples.

It seems that every time I read one of WVAF's LTE's I suddenly am provoked to take a shower and wash off the filth that he has spewed.

Since this seems to be a "special edition" of the opinion page, WVAF's letter was published here along with the opinions of local religious leaders who have a much kinder attitude toward same sex marriage and homosexuality for the most part.

For a professed hetero, WVAF certainly seems to believe he has a great insight into the minds of homosexuals, claiming they "covet" the hetero life!

    To LNS,
Why is this man, William Van Amber Fields, continually allowed to post his religious nonsense in the editorial pages when he actually belongs on the religious comments. This religious bias has little to do with the reality that consenting adults should be able to do what ever they want with each other. Theres no genetic disposition to owning a gun either yet we continue to accept there are those who wish to do so. There is no reason on earth to discriminate against gays except as a result of religious indoctrination based on ancient writings of those promoting increased populations to support greater church/temple incomes, increaseing their tax base and adding expedable soldiers to support dictatorial wars of aggression. This man, William Van Amber Fields, is highly inflamatory and mean spirited conay to the religion he professes to be a part of. He is what Jesus would call a hypocrite.

Dr. Collins accepts that evolution is a fact and that the Earth is 8 billion years old.

    Just sayin'.
